Photography
The word idea
comes from the Greek verb to see. Seeing is a creative act; for
me, it is literally the source of ideas.
My book, The
Eye Is a Door, is about seeing as a way of knowing, about photography
as visual thinking, a tool of discovery, an act of empathy, a
medium of expression, a defense against despair.
The exhibit,
Knowing Where to Stand, asserts
these themes.

show online, click on the title above. The physical exhibition
was at the MIT Museum from September 2003 – January 2004.

work extends these themes. To visit the class, go to Sites
