DESCRIPTION: Lange is working in the Pacific Northwest, first in western Oregon, where she plans the remainder of her trip with FSA staff in Portland. There, she receives the proofs for the book, corresponds with the publishers about revisions, and worries about the quality of reproduction. She drives across the state through the sagebrush desert of eastern Oregon to the cutover forests of Idaho before heading back to the Klamath Basin on the border of Oregon and California, covering thousands of miles, much on unpaved roads.
