MIT Sporting Clays Association
What are sporting clays? Please see this explanation from the BBC.
The MIT Sporting Clays Association is a graduate (undergraduates welcome) funded student group officially recognized by the Association of Student Acitivities. Our mission is to foster the activity of sporting clays (skeet, trap and sporting clays) among the MIT community. Range practice is generally conducted at the Minute Man Sportsmen Club.
We practice throughout the school year, and competed in 2011 for the first time in the 2nd Annual New England Collegiate Shotgun Championships, where our squads placed 4th and 5th overall, ahead of the Tufts, Harvard and Northeastern teams. We plan to compete again this year in the Spring.
If you are a member of the MIT community, and would like to learn more about the MIT SCA, please e-mail the club officers at sportclays-officers (at) mit (dot) edu. Meeting times are generally biweekly, but please send an e-mail to be added to the sportclays (at) mit (dot) edu mailing list to verify this schedule.
Also, if you have a general interest in shooting activities at MIT, please visit the MIT Pistol and Rifle Club, MIT Pistol Club (formerly the Varsity Pistol team), the Varsity Rifle team and IM Air Pistol.
