“Commit to changing the world,” civil rights lawyer Bryan Stevenson urged the Class of 2021 on Friday. MIT’s second-ever online Commencement celebrated 3,298 graduates, with tributes from Cambridge to Antarctica.

Prior to Friday’s online all-MIT Commencement, School of Engineering advanced degree recipients gathered on Killian Court for a special photo opportunity with Dean Anantha Chandrakasan.

Researchers have created the first fiber with digital capabilities, able to sense, store, analyze, and infer activity. Sewn into garments, such digital fibers could help in physical performance monitoring, medical inference, and disease detection.
