This library documents the scientific and technological foundations of the Internet. Among the contents of the Origin of Cyberspace library are key founding documents concerning:
  • The first programmable computer, electronic computer, and software
  • The origins of neurocomputing, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, and telecommunications
  • The mathematical theory of data communications
  • The history of the computer business and the foundation of the world's first electronic computer company
  • The beginnings of electronic computing in the United States and England, and to a lesser extent, in France, Italy, Australia, Germany, Switzerland and Japan
On February 23, the collection will be auctioned by Christie's in New York.
