Adjusting to a new environment can be challenging. spouses&partners@mit has a well-educated staff that offers individual and confidential consultation to any member. They are available to talk about any subject, from where to buy furniture and finding English classes, to raising your children or concerns about your marriage. No question is too big or too small. Jennifer Recklet, Program Manager
After graduating from Smith College in 1993 with a degree in psychology, Jennifer Recklet spent a year in Milan, Italy working as an au pair. When she returned to Boston, she began working as a temporary secretary at MIT, and she's been at the Institute ever since. In 1997, she began working for spouses&partners@mit and has truly enjoyed meeting and working with people from all over the world. She loves cooking and eating, art and music, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family.
Jennifer’s interests include cultural adjustment and families, languages, and community building. As the program manager, Jennifer oversees daily operations and manages the administrative, strategic, and financial aspects of spouses&partners@mit. She is also the primary contact person for members, providing direct support to the members by answering individual questions and helping them plan activities and projects. She collaborates with other offices and programs at MIT to build support for spouses and partners, and she also educates MIT administrators about the specific challenges and issues facing our members. Jennifer also manages the MIT Language Conversation Exchange and is the site administrator for MIT FamilyNet, an online community for MIT families.
