LET,S Learn English Together, Spouses!
The one of the hardest things about living in another country as a international? One of the most important things that helps you to adjust well to another country and to know the new environment and culture effectively? Learning the language! That's what LET,S is here for!
We dedicated so many years to studying English either at schools and/or a variety of different academic sources in our countries. In spite of all that time and effort, we realize that speaking, listening and writing English is harder and more frustrating than we expected from the very moment of our arrival in the U.S. Unless we make a special effort to learn 'Real' English, we feel that our English hasn't improved as much as we hoped even a couple of years later.
Some colloquial expressions we learn may disappear soon unless we use them often. We repeat same sentences all the time unless you learn something new. Same mistakes keep coming back unless we're corrected. Therefore, why don't we study English together so we can encourage and motivate each other?
LET,S will meet every Thurdays from 11:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m. For the first 45 min. we'll study vocabulary, idioms, phrasal verbs, some useful expressions or some listening practice. For last 45 min. we will do different things each week such as discussing the book we're reading for the month or reading articles from newspaper and sharing opinions. In order to get this going, each member will bring an article we discuss by turns. Each of us will write at least one or two essays during the term so that we can make a book with our writings.
Last but not least, don't be afraid! We're all learners and everything is flexible. You can join only the first part or the second part or both. Once every month, we'll explore a local restaurant as well for the real taste and talk;) While studying and socializing, our English will grow with LET,S step by step!

Book Group
We're a very sociable group. The food & conversation are as important to us as the books. New members are always welcome. Come meet us even if you haven't read the book!
We read a variety of books- from classics to pop novels. Members will suggest book to read and the final selection is decided by a group vote.
Meeting dates and times can vary depending upon everyone's schedules, though we usually meet on the second or third Monday of the month from 8pm to 10ish. Meetings can take place at local coffee shops, restaurants, or at a member's home.

International Chatting Group
Attending this group is a great way to meet new friends. To help people whose first language is not English, the group decides light discussion topics in advance to initiate conversation, e.g. places to visit in Boston; our weddings; national dishes, etc. To add variation to the meetings, the group also decides in advance what other activities it would like to do, e.g. go on trips, discuss a chosen article or learn English from native speakers. This is a unique opportunity to learn about other cultures and swap ideas about living in Boston.
Children are welcome. We meet on Mondays from 3-5 p.m.
