Introduction
Throughout the year, the members of spouses&partners@mit organize or participate in several special events which are open to the MIT community. At these events, spouses&partners@mit members can volunteer on all levels, for example as a coordinator, with the presentation and publicity, or "behind the scenes" before, during and after the events. Although it is fun to work as a volunteer, you are more than welcome to participate just as a spectator. All events are free or at a very low cost.
We also host parties throughout the year for our members and their families. Join us at our HallowMIT, Silk Road Gala, International Fair, Holiday Party and Summer Barbecue. These are also great opportunities to get involved with spouses&partners@mit and help plan the events.

Orientation for new graduate students is held at the end of August. spouses&partners@mit events publicize our group on campus, attract new members, and help newcomers get settled at MIT. New spouses appreciate our efforts to make them feel welcome and comfortable. Volunteers are needed to greet newcomers at our coffee hours and welcome lunch.
HallowMIT
spouses&partners@mit participates in this annual campus-wide Halloween children’s festival in October. We work with colleagues in the Student Activities Office and other offices and organizations at MIT to host a party that includes crafts, games, entertainment, and food. We are looking for a member to coordinate our participation.
Silk Road Gala
spouses&partners@mit members volunteer together at the Silk Road Gala, an annual fundraiser for the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence. We are looking for a member to coordinate our participation.
International Fair Coordinator
Since 1998, spouses&partners@mit has had a table at the International Fair. Held every April, the International Clubs of the MIT community get the chance to present a little piece of their culture, something to show their country, habits, and traditions. Every club has a booth where they can show pictures, give maps and guides, play music, sell or give away food. A Fashion show and musical and dance performances are also featured. We are looking for a member to coordinate our table.
Holiday Party and Summer Barbecue
We have annual Holiday Party in December and a May Barbecue for our members and their families. Volunteers are needed to help organize the food, decorations, activities, and music.
