Applying for a Graduate Program

English Exam
How do I apply for a graduate program (a master's or PhD degree program)?
As we mentioned above the greater Boston area has more than 70 universities and colleges. So many opportunities might make it difficult for you to find the exact program you are looking for and it may also be hard for you to make a decision on which one is best for you. The Higher Education Information Center has a great website which provides you a list of MA schools including graduate schools, undergraduate schools and state colleges for your degree program in one website. The Higher Education Information Center also provides you each school's URL, so you can enter a specific school's website to search for the specific program you would like to apply for.
http://www.edinfo.orgWhen do classes usually start?
Usually there are 3 terms/semesters in an academic year:
- Fall term starts in September
- Winter/Spring term starts in January
- Summer term starts in June
Do I need to pass an English exam in order to enroll in classes?
It depends. It is a good idea to check this out before you leave home, and take the TOEFL exam in your home country or immediately after you arrive at MIT. Some schools have their own English test.
