Spectator Sports
Bostonians are passionate sports fans,
and Boston is home to four professional league teams: Boston Red Sox
(baseball), New England Patriots (American football), Boston Bruins
(ice hockey), and the Celtics (basketball). It is also home to the New
England Revolution (soccer).
Every year many gather to participate
in the Boston Marathon, and in the fall, Head of the Charles Regatta
draws large crowds and many competitors.

American Football
The New England Patriots
are the official football team of Boston. It is a very strong football
team, having won 3 of the last 4 Super Bowl championships. Tickets to
a Patriots game are usually very hard to come by since they sell out
early, and can be very expensive. However, if you have a chance, you
should definitely see a game. Football season begins in September and

of the New England Patriots. The stadium is about an hour's drive
from downtown Boston.

Baseball
Fenway Park is the oldest ball
park in the United States. It is also the home of the Boston Red
Sox (major league baseball). Boston fans are very loyal to their
team, and since winning the World Cup in 2004 and 2007, Boston Red Sox have become
iconic. The reason for this is that the last time the Red Sox won a

Baseball season usually runs from April
to September. Tickets are usually expensive and hard to come by, especially
for big games like Red Sox vs. their rivals, the New York Yankees.

Basketball
Basketball season runs from October
to April. Boston Celtics are among the most successful of all
major league teams in Boston, even though their last championship win

Boston Marathon
The Boston Marathon is the world's
oldest marathon and is considered one of the most prestigious road racing
