Wu is an associate professor at the School of Management, Harbin Institute of Technology, China. He is interested in regional planning, with a focus on regional innovation capability construction and regional technology management of enterprises. He has led and taken part in dozens of research projects such as The Twelfth Five Year Plan of Naqu District in Tibet, Planning of Qiqihar High Technology Industry Development Zone, and Transformation of Resource Exhausted Cities in China. He has published over thirty papers and co-published three books. He received his PhD and MA in management from the Harbin Institute of Technology. At MIT, he will focus on economic development of cities in China.
