Hanif is a civil servant, who has worked in different positions at various regions of Pakistan. His areas of specialization include public sector management, transportation planning, and human resource management. He also served as a chief instructor providing training to public servants of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Before joining the Civil Service, he obtained a bachelorís degree in law. Afterwards, he obtained a masterís degree from Birmingham University in railways system engineering and integration. At MIT, his objectives are to further enhance his capabilities in urban transportation systems, strategic public sector management and integrated planning.
