Sandra Gutierrez Poizat

Sandra is an architect and urban designer whose work bridges research and practice. She is a professor at Universidad Centroamericana in El Salvador, where she coordinates the urban design courses and runs an annual international workshop on public spaces. Her research focuses on the History and Theory of Architecture and Urbanism, particularly on El Salvador's modern architecture. She holds master’s degrees in urban design from TU Delft in The Netherlands and in Architecture from Universidad Centroamericana. At MIT, she plans to focus on public spaces and violence reduction in post conflict environments, with emphasis on the relationship between history, art and technology.
