Waqar is an infrastructure specialist focused on how rural and peri-urban infrastructure development can contribute to meeting millennium development goals. He is a senior manager in the Energy, Infrastructure and Disaster Management Department of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), an apex national organization, and worked on the planning process for providing alternative/renewable energy resources to off-grid and remote communities in Pakistan. He holds a bachelorís degree in Civil Engineering from Quaid-e-Awan University and a masterís in Project Management from SZABIST, Islamabad. He is also a certified Project Management Professional. At MIT, he will focus on energy policy and sustainable development.
