Xuesong is an associate professor and the deputy director of the Institute of Ecological and Environment Sciences at Sichuan Agricultural University. His research focuses on regional land use planning, specifically on how to achieve spatial optimization of land resources and coordinate development between urban and rural areas. He holds a PhD in sustainable utilization of land resources from Sichuan Agricultural University. At MIT, he will conduct research on rural land use planning and farm planning at different scales.
