Re: MITSIS / Course 6 Interface

Thank you for keeping us informed of your progress. What I have done is an analysis of the data fields you are going to be giving us access to and the comparative fields in our MITSIS Database (please refer to page 2 of this document). The last column of the spreadsheet specifies the field column length that you requested on your last email. Please let me know if you need additional information.

Our assumption is that this process will only handle new appointments; subsequent changes will be handled directly on MITSIS. Is this your understanding?

Other Comments:

  1. On the layout you provided us, the Student’s Name is not included; we feel this is an important field for validation purposes (Field length is included in the table on page 2).
  2. We also include the student’s office address; this allows Payroll to send the student’s pay stub to the appropriate address (Field length: 30 characters).
  3. Can you include a sequence number as a Primary key?
  4. In the case where the S[tat] = X for errors, can you provide us with an area where we could give you a description for the error?
  5. This question is related to the Distribution Percent: In the examples that you provided us, the tuition/stipend were distributed to one account only. What happens in those cases where the tuition or stipend are going to be paid by 2 accounts:
  1. Are you going to provide us with 2 separate rows with the different account numbers? If so, what is going to be the DIST_PCT? 50% - 50% ***or*** If you are referring to a 60% Award, your DIST_PCT will be 30% - 30%
  2. ***OR***

  3. Are you going to send both lines as separate appointments?

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you!!!!
