2014-15 SSP Military Fellow Ryan Bernacchi will be Navy Blue Angels flight leader as his next assignment. He will be taking over the flight demonstration team for 2016 and 2017. more information

Phil Haun has been selected as Dean of Academic Affairs at the U.S. Naval War College. His appointment there will begin January 2016.

Joshua Rovner spoke at Northwestern Michigan College's International Affairs Forum on February 21, 2013. The topic: "Fixing Intelligence by the US Government."

Peter Krause was on New England Cable News on October 22, 2012 to discuss the upcoming presidential debate. The news segment was titled "Understanding the foreign policy debate."

Austin Long served in Afghanistan as an analyst and advisor to Combined Forces Special Operations Component Command Afghanistan from June-August, 2011.

Eugene Gholz spoke at a Cato Institute event on January 13, 2011, titled "The Military-Industrial Complex at 50: Assessing the Meaning and Impact of Eisenhower's Farewell Address." The event was covered by CSPAN. Video of his talk is available here.

Rhonda Crane (Ph.D., Political Science, 1976) and a long time AT&T employee, died on May 19, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore after a long illness. She lived in the Watergate in DC and was a specialist in government/industry relations. She was 63.

Major General Gregg Martin has been appointed Commandant of the Army War College, Carlisle Barracks PA.

Yinan He spoke on "The Search for Reconciliation: Sino-Japanese and German Polish Relations since World War II" at the University of Hong Kong, May 24-25, 2009. She gave the same talk in Shanghai, Cambridge, MA, and Taiwan between May and October 2009. She also spoke on "The Past and Present of Sino-Japanese Relations: Revisiting the Roles of the U.S. Factor and Historical Legacy," at the University of Hong Kong, May 24-25, 2009.

Yinan He presented on "Selective Othering: National Identity Formation and Chinese Attitudes toward the External World, 1895-1926" at Harvard in May, 2009, in Toronto at the APSA meeting in September, 2009 and in Taiwan in October 2009. Also in Taiwan in October 2009, she spoke on Sino-Japanese relations at an international conference.

Sarah Kenyon Lisher presented on "Displacement Cries and Security Challenges in Africa," at a workshop on "Refugees and Militancy in Africa: Current and/or Future Threat?" in McLean, VA, November 6, 2009. She also presented on "Refugee Return and Violence" at a workshop sponsored by the International Peace Research Institute of Oslo and Simon Fraser University, in Vancouver, Canada, October 14-18, 2009.

Kathleen Troia McFarland has been on Fox News numerous times in 2009-10, discussing current security events.

Chikako Kawakatsu Ueki has been appointed a member of the Japanese Council on Security and Defense Capabilities. The Council will produce a security/defense strategy report.
