Robert S. Ross
ROBERT S. ROSS is Professor of Political Science at Boston College and a member of the Executive Committee, Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, Harvard University. Since 2009 he has been Adjunct Professor, Institute for Defense Studies, Norwegian Ministry of Defense. His current research focuses on Chinese use of force and deterrence in East Asia, the implications of the rise of China on East Asian security, and the role of nationalism in Chinese security policy and U.S.-China relations. His most recent books are China’s Ascent: Power, Security, and the Future of International Politics and Twenty-First Century Seapower: Cooperation and Conflict at Sea. His current research focuses on the growth of Chinese naval power and the implications for U.S.-China relations and East Asian security.
