Software Products
The Network/Software group of the STC is pleased to offer the
following products and services:
Basic Network Package (WebSIS)
Be equipped and up to date with MIT's basic computing resources!
The Websis package includes the installation and training for:
- Netscape
- Eudora
- Certificates
- Kerberos
To acquire a consultant for this product, you may use either
of two methods: log into the
STC website as a Client, or send email to stc@mit.edu. If you already have
certificates, you should log into your Client account, and go to the
products section. Find the Basic Network Package product, and click
'Request Consultant Now!'. If you don't have certificates, or are
unsure, send email to stc@mit.edu,
and a consultant will be assigned to you. Part of the service will
include registering you as an STC Client and showing you how to use
the website!
Network Setup
The software group will also connect your office to the MIT network
including desktops and printers. Network Setup includes, like all software
group consulting, on-site installation and support.
To acquire a consultant for this product, log into your Client account,
and go to the products section. Find the Network Setup product, and
click 'Request Consultant Now!'. Be sure to include relevant details
about what setup should be done and the current status of the
computers that will be configured.
Software/Hardware Installation
The software group also supports installation and upgrades for all MIT
software and User-Provided Software:
- VirusScan
- MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, FrontPage, Outlook
- Dreamweaver
- Adobe Acrobat
- Matlab
As well as hardware:
- Printers
- Scanners
- Internal/External Drives
- Memory Upgrades
- Peripherals

and go to the products section. Find the Software/Hardware
Installation product, and click 'Request Consultant Now!'.
Isn't listed here?
If you have a job that relates to Hardware/Software that isn't listed
here as a product, you may submit it as a job on our website, and an
STC agent will get to you as to its suitability for the STC. These
types of jobs tend to move slower than products.
