　　Nyorai joju ho joju kawaranu oya no daihishin

Tathagata is eternally dwelling;
Dharmas are eternally abiding;
Our Parent's Great Compassion never changes.

January
　　　 元旦や　南無阿弥陀仏の　宝船
　　　　Gantan ya Namoamidabutsu no takarabune
　　　
　　　　　New Year's Day -
　　　Here comes the treasure boat of
　　　Namo Amida Butsu.　

February
　　　　称えよ称えよ　大悲の声は　南無阿弥陀仏
　　Tonaeyo tonaeyo daihi no koe wa Namoamidabutsu

　　Recite the Nembutsu, keep reciting it.
　　The voice of Great Compassion is
　　Namo Amida Butsu.

March
　　一日の 娑婆の命は　尊いぞ。
　　Ｉｃｈｉｎｉｃｈｉ　no Shaba no inochi wa toutoi zo.

　　Our life in this world, even for a day,
　　is valuable indeed.

April
　　念仏の　うちに　賛嘆　懺悔あり。
　　Nembutsu no uchini sandan sange ari

　　In the Nembutsu are contained
　　both glorification of Amida's virtue
　　　and repentance of our evil.

May
　　凡夫が　頭で割切った世界は　行詰まった　世界である。
　　Bonbu ga atama de warikitta sekai ha yukizumatta 　　　　sekai de aru.

　　Our way of life based on our reasoning
　　is bound to come to a deadlock.

June
　　宿業は　山崩れして岩石の　落つるが如く　止めようもなし。
　　Shukugo ha yama kuzureshite ganseki no oturuga gotoku 　　tome yomo nashi.

　　Our evil karma stored from the past
　　cannot be stoppped by any means,
　　like falling rock in a landslide.

July
　　往生は　むつかしいものと　思うなよ
　　仰せのままに　順えばよし。
　　Ojo ha mutsukashii monoto omou na yo,
　　oose no mama ni shitage ba yoshi.

　　Don't considere birth in the Pure Land
　　　to be difficult to attain;
　　　　follow the sayings of the masters.

August
　　ああ　あの月が　賛うる声も　光りなり。
　　Aa, ano tukiga! tatauru koe mo hikari nari.

　　"Look, that moon!"
　　The sound of praise comes from its light.

September
　　佛力に非ずんば　佛果を得ず。
　　Butsuriki ni arazun ba, bukka wo e zu.

　　Unless you avail yourselves of the Buddha's Power,
　　you will never attain the Buddha's fruition.

October
　　けふもまた　光りかがやく　み佛の
　　　お顔拝みて　うれしなつかし。
　　kyou mo mata hikari kagayaku mihotoke no
　　 okao ogami te ureshi natsukashi.

　　How joyful and heartwarming
　　　it is to envisage the Buddha today, too,
　　　　shining with glory.

November
　　お六字は　佛の御名と思いしが
　　　わが往生のしるしなりけり。
　　Orokuji ha hotoke no mina to omoishi ga,
　　　waga ojo no shirushi nari keri.

　　I used to think that the six-character Name was
　　　the name of Amida Buddha;
　　Now I realize that it is the sure evidence
　　　of my birth in the Pure Land.

December
　　落ち切りて　仰ぎ切るなり　願力の声
　　Ochikiri te augi kiru nari ganriki no koe.

　　From the rejected sense of being in hell
　　　emerges deep-felt adoration of the Vow-Power.
