Welcome Back and congratulations on completing your study abroad or domestic study away program!

It is exciting to be back and to be able to share your study abroad experience with your family, friends and fellow students. Re-entry to the United States and to MIT can also be difficult, and may even be more difficult than the culture shock that you experienced during your study abroad. It is totally normal that you feel sad or out of place for the first few weeks back. Articulating your feelings about your experience abroad and about returning can be very helpful. It is also important to recognize these feelings and reach out for support. For more information, please read the section on accessing the study abroad community in the re-entry steps and resources .

We very much look forward to seeing you and to hearing about your experiences. We also encourage you to become involved in our ambassador program for study abroad at MIT and to get involved with the study abroad activities.

For a smooth transition back to MIT, please view the re-entry steps and resources . To become involved in the ambassador program for study abroad please sign up with our office.
