Checking In
Once you arrive at your destination, be sure to contact your family to let them know that you reached your host country and to give them your contact information.
Once you are settled in your local housing, please send your mailing address, phone number, and email address to Jennifer Cook by email (jacook@mit.edu) or by regular mail (MIT Global Education Office, 77 Massachusetts Ave., 12-189, Cambridge, MA 02139), so we have this information in case any office at MIT needs to contact you while you are away. We would love to hear about your study abroad experience. We look forward to your messages.
Shortly after you arrive, please also register with the U.S. embassy or consulate nearest you so the embassy/consulate staff have you on record in case of an emergency/evacuation and they can get in touch with you or offer you assistance.
