MIT Online Subject Evaluation

MIT's Online Subject Evaluation system is an important tool that helps improve teaching and learning at the Institute. Student feedback assists:

Subject evaluation is administered by the Office of Faculty Support (OFS), part of the Office of the Dean for Undergraduate Education (DUE).

The online system was developed in partnership with Information Services and Technology (IS&T) to take the place of MIT’s long-standing paper system. It was introduced to the MIT Community through a multi-year pilot starting in 2007. Over the course of the project, the team worked closely with academic departments as well as with a Steering Committee and an Advisory Group comprised of faculty, students, and staff. By bringing the system online, we aim to make it easier for students to participate and to provide a more robust data gathering and reporting mechanism for the Institute and the MIT community at large.
