To: ssmail@sloan.mit.edu, students@sloan.mit.edu Cc: cgwm@MIT.EDU, mdtyler@MIT.EDU Subject: Minority Recruitment Meeting Summary [This memo is from Carmon Cunningham and Meg Manderson] Dean Urban and representatives from Sloan faculty, staff, and students met on February 20th to discuss ways in which Sloan can improve its recruiting efforts and on-campus support of underrepresented minorities. The meeting was well attended and issues were openly discussed by all. After a review of Sloans current recruitment and support plans, discussion focused on ways to improve Sloans efforts in the areas of Awareness, Affordability, and Support. A number of excellent ideas were generated for each area. After much discussion, the key ideas were recorded and teams were assembled to develop a set of recommendations and specific action plans for the school. A memo will be sent regarding the meeting schedule of the Teams. If you could not attend the Feb.20th meeting but would like to participate on one or more of the teams, please let me know.
