The CIRP Freshman Survey is part of a national longitudinal study of
college freshmen and is conducted at hundreds of colleges and
universities throughout the country each year, including Pomona
College.  The survey asks Pomona students several questions about high
school activities, goals for college, and plans after you graduate,
and the College pays close attention to this information for
institutional planning and assessment purposes.  Please take a few
moments to participate in this important research.  In appreciation
for your timely response to this survey, the College will reward the
first sponsor group to complete and submit their online surveys with a
party at the end of orientation!  

This year, the online version of the survey will be conducted by the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology and coordinated by the Higher
Education Research Institute at the University of California at Los
Angeles.  Pomona College has provided your email address and other
information to these institutions for purposes of conducting the
survey.  You will have the opportunity at the end of the survey to
decide how much information about yourself you would like to share
with the researchers that administer and analyze the survey. This
voluntary information enables important research about college
students and the Pomona experience, and it will be stringently
protected. Your responses will be completely confidential, and no
individuals will be identified in any presentation of survey results.

consists of nine linked sections; please complete all sections so that
we have a record of your full set of responses. This survey takes
approximately 20-25 minutes to complete.  We encourage you to fill out
the survey as soon as possible, allowing enough time to complete it in
one sitting.
