the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA.  This survey is
administered each year to new students at Wesleyan and at institutions
across the country.  The administration pays close attention to this
information, and uses the information for making policy decisions, and

for research purposes only -- to better understand our incoming class
of 2011, and better respond to the variety of student interests and

these institutions for purposes of conducting the survey.  Please note
question #42 on the survey.  We encourage you to answer YES, because
your data can be used in later research only with your authorization.

your name will never be associated with your answers and your
responses will be strictly confidential.  Your participation in the
survey is voluntary and will not affect your standing at Wesleyan.  To
