SENT LOCALLY Subject: Carleton Alumni Survey Date: Mon, 16 Mar 2009 13:16:25 -0500 From: Carleton Alumni Survey To: jag@MIT.EDU Dear Jag: President Oden recently wrote to you to invite you to participate in the most extensive alumni survey that Carleton has conducted in decades. Carleton is inviting over 17,000 alumni from the classes of 1969 to 2005 to participate, and I hope you will help us with this important project. It will provide an invaluable source of information on our performance as a college, from those most able to tell us about it: you, our alumni. This e-mail contains a link with your unique access code to the survey. Carleton is conducting this survey along with other members of the Consortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE), a group of 31 highly selective colleges and universities. Our participation with COFHE will provide us with valuable information to compare the post-graduate experiences of Carleton alumni to those from a set of very similar schools. Please note that we are conducting this survey for research purposes, and your responses will not be used for personal solicitations. Any results will be reported only in the aggregate, and any personal identifiers will be stripped from the analysis files. To participate in this (web-only) survey, please follow the link below to the survey site (hosted for Carleton at MIT). Please note that it should take about 30 minutes to complete this survey. The survey will remain open until *May 15*, and we will send you reminders if you cannot respond immediately. Since we think that you should also know more about Carleton's alumni, we will share the results in a public forum when the results are analyzed. Thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses! Sincerely, James C. Fergerson Director of Institutional Research and Assessment Carleton College jfergers@carleton.edu 507 222-4292
