Carleton Alumni Survey 2009

Thank you for participating in The Alumni Survey. Carleton has invited nearly 23,000 alumni to participate in its largest survey of alumni in decades. Carleton is participating in the survey in cooperation with the Consortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE), a group of 31 similar highly selective colleges and universities.

We are conducting the survey to get a better understanding of the post-Carleton experiences of our alumni, and to learn more about the types of information and services you’d like to receive from the College. You will have an opportunity to comment on the Carleton of today and tomorrow. We have recently been asked to extend the survey to alumni from all classes. Since this is a survey shared by many institutions and class eras, you may find that some questions are not relevant to your class era. It’s best to just skip a question that you feel that you can’t easily answer. We also think that you should know more about Carleton’s alumni, so when the results are analyzed, they will be shared in a public forum.

The survey consists of several linked sections. It is important that you complete all seven sections for our research. Once you complete each page by hitting the “next” button, your responses to that page are automatically sent to us. (There is therefore no need for a final “submit” button at the end of the survey.) You will be able to complete part of the survey and return at a later date to complete the rest of the survey. If you return to the survey, your previously submitted answers will be displayed for you to leave or edit.

Your privacy is very important to us.  Rest assured that we will never use your personal responses to target you for solicitation.  The survey is being hosted for Carleton by COFHE on a secure server at MIT. For its local research, Carleton may match your responses to other information in the alumni databases.  Files used by Carleton or COFHE for analysis will be stripped of personal identifiers, and results will only be reported in the aggregate. This survey is entirely voluntary and you may answer as few or as many questions as you wish.
