Date: Mon, 13 Apr 2009 10:39:23 -0400 To: "Jagruti Patel" From: David Jamieson-Drake Subject: Duke Alumni Survey Dear Jagruti, As a Duke graduate, your opinion is very important to us. We recently e-mailed you an invitation to participate in the Duke Alumni Survey, but we have not heard from you yet. This survey gives you an opportunity to share your thoughts about your undergraduate experience and to update us on your post-baccalaureate activities. Complete, representative responses will permit us to obtain maximum benefit from this effort to seek important intelligence from our alumni. A high response rate will also help Duke stand out among our peers, as we do in many other areas. Your participation in this survey is voluntary. With your permission, Duke may match, for its research, your responses to your test score information in institutional databases to help analyze major and career choice findings, or to other survey responses, such as the Freshman and Senior Surveys, to track change over time. This information will increase the usefulness of the survey. In all cases, your responses to the survey will be kept strictly confidential and will not be printed or published in any form that would identify you. The information you provide will be used by the senior leadership of the university, deans, and faculty leaders, to help guide prioritization and decision making on issues important to undergraduate students. We value your ideas and would greatly appreciate your taking the time to complete the survey, which will only take about 25 minutes. To enter the survey, please visit If you have questions about the study, please contact me via email (david.jamieson.drake@duke.edu) or by phone at 919-684-0540. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant, please contact the Chair of the Duke University Human Subjects Committee at 919-684-3030. Many thanks in advance for your time and participation. Sincerely, David Jamieson-Drake Director of Institutional Research Office of the Provost's Office Duke University
