I am writing today to ask your assistance in completing a brief survey
aimed at improving the quality of undergraduate education at
Rochester. This survey, in partnership with the Consortium on
Financing Higher Education (COFHE), will provide invaluable
information for us as we aim to improve the educational experience for
future Rochester students.

COFHE is a group of more than 30 similar highly selective colleges and
universities. It conducts research and policy analysis related to
admissions, financial aid, educational costs, and program
assessments. COFHE regularly surveys undergraduate alumni of its
member institutions. The results provide valuable information on the
undergraduate experience at the University of Rochester and enable us
to compare the experiences of our students to those of students at
other COFHE institutions. For the purposes of the 2009 study, we are
surveying graduates of the College of in the classes of 1998 and 2003
both via email and postal mail.

The survey is voluntary and consists of several linked sections; we
ask that you complete all sections. If you are unable to complete the
survey in one setting, you may return at a later date. The full survey
should take no more than 10-15 minutes. This online survey is being
administered by MIT, which manages the project on behalf of COFHE
member institutions. Your privacy is very important to us. Please know
that for analysis and reporting purposes, your responses will be
stripped of all personal identifiers and reported only in the
