Feb 21 To: From: "K. Tracy Barnes" Subject: Brown Student Survey - Be heard! Dear : Dean Bergeron wrote to you recently regarding the 2007 Enrolled Student Survey. The survey asks you to describe various aspects of your undergraduate life and to suggest ways to strengthen and enhance the undergraduate experience at Brown. As Dean Bergeron indicated, your assessment is of particular consequence during this time of significant change and renewal at Brown. The administration pays close attention to student surveys and your input is highly valued. This year we are surveying all undergraduates on campus. Using the link below, you may respond via the Web Survey Project at MIT. We ask, if at all possible, that you respond using the on-line survey. If you are unable to respond on the Web, please email Karen Leonard, in the Office of Institutional Research, at Karen_Leonard@brown.edu and we will make a paper version of the survey available to you. Please know that your confidentiality is assured in either format. Both versions contain an identifier that will be used only to confirm that you have returned the survey. The identifying link is destroyed once confirmation occurs, and then your responses are entered into a database containing no personal identifiers. Furthermore, all reports that are generated will be aggregate and statistical in nature. Those who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win some great prizes. We will have a raffle for each class: * First-years - one first-year will win the best number for their class in the housing lottery * Sophomores - one sophomore will win the best number for their class in the housing lottery * Juniors - one junior will win a $250 gift certificate to the Brown bookstore * Seniors - one senior will win a table package (a table and 10 tickets) at Campus Dance. The sooner you complete the survey, the greater your chance of winning a prize: complete it by midnight on February 28th and you will be entered into the raffle three times! To make things more interesting we will hold an additional raffle for the class with the highest percentage of classmates responding -- one student from that winning class will receive a 30GB iPod. To access and complete the survey on-line, please click the following link: [URL] This is a unique link assigned to you. For this reason, it is very important that you do not share it or forward this email to anyone else. Also, please save this email should you wish to complete the survey at a later time. If you encounter any problems while taking the survey, please contact Karen at Karen_Leonard@brown.edu. Sincerely, K.
