Subject: Dartmouth Students: Tell us what you think Date: Wed, 27 Apr 2011 08:47:54 -0400 From: Sylvia C. Spears, Ph.D. Reply-To: institutional.research@dartmouth.edu To: Jagruti S Patel Dear Jag, I am writing to encourage you to complete the Enrolled Student Survey sent to you via e-mail last week by President Jim Y. Kim. If you have already submitted the survey please accept my thanks. In case you have deleted the original e-mail message, the URL is provided below for your convenience. As you may recall, Dartmouth is participating in this survey along with a group of selective private universities and colleges. The survey responses give us the opportunity not only to learn what you think of your undergraduate experience at Dartmouth but to compare it with the experience of undergraduates at other institutions. This year, MIT is administering the online version of this national survey. Your response is very important. In order for the results of this survey to be truly representative, it is essential that each student complete the questionnaire. To encourage your participation, all respondents will be entered into a raffle for prizes that include an iPad2 and gift certificates to local restaurants. I want to assure you that your responses will be kept strictly confidential. The survey will be analyzed by staff inside our Office of Institutional Research and no one else on campus will see your individual responses to this survey. In order to increase the usefulness of the survey, we may combine your survey responses with information we already have. I hope that you will be able to find the 15-20 minutes necessary to complete the questionnaire. Your doing so will make a difference in the success of this project and its usefulness to current and future Dartmouth students. The survey can be found at: [] If you have questions or encounter any technical difficulties you should contact Dr. Lynn Foster-Johnson, Acting Director of Institutional Research (Lynn.Foster-Johnson@Dartmouth.edu). I greatly appreciate you taking the time to complete and submit this important survey. Sincerely, Sylvia C. Spears, Ph.D. Acting Dean of the College
