Recently I invited you to participate in a campus-wide survey of
student opinion. If you have already done so, I am grateful. If not,
please try to work it into your schedule over the next few days
perhaps as a study-break!

This campus-wide survey is an important part of an ongoing effort to
evaluate the Williams student experience. We conduct this census of
student opinion every four years and faculty and administrators pay
close attention to the results as they are central to campus planning
and improvement.
 
In order for those results to be meaningful, it is important that all
parts of the campus are represented among the responses: every major,
every neighborhood, every team, and indeed, every opinion is
important.
 
I want to assure you that the confidentiality of your responses will
be protected fully. Our analyses of these data will consist of
statistics and percentages for large groups. No
individually-identifiable information will ever be reported. Any
written comments you choose to make will never be associated with you
personally.
