Subject: The Importance of the Senior Survey Date: Wed, 17 Mar 2010 12:48:21 -0400 From: Ruth J. Simmons To: Jagruti S Patel Dear Jag, As you graduate and embark on a new phase of your life, I hope you will take advantage of an opportunity to reflect upon your Brown experience and share your views in order to shape Brown's future. Decisions regarding our academic mission and campus life are greatly informed by feedback from students, and your assessments and insights are particularly important during this phase of significant change and renewal at the University. On March 19th, in your Brown email account, you will receive a link to the Senior Survey, designed by the Consortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE) and hosted by MIT. Brown's Office of Institutional Research will administer the survey in cooperation with COFHE and MIT. Complete confidentiality is assured. The Senior Survey seeks information about your satisfaction with many aspects of undergraduate life: your intellectual and social growth, your experience within your concentration, and your aspirations. Brown will be participating in this survey along with other private colleges and universities. This joint survey administration will provide us with the opportunity to examine the Brown experience in comparison to similar institutions, including but not exclusive to members of the Ivy League. You can offer an invaluable perspective on issues of great importance to Brown. Most importantly, your assessment of your Brown experience will guide our planning over the next several years. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Ruth J. Simmons
