Subject: Vassar Class of '10 - Senior Survey invitation!! Date: Fri, 26 Mar 2010 12:21:34 -0400 From: David Davis-Van Atta To: Jagruti S Patel Dear Jag, Congratulations on reaching the final term, and successful completion of your work at Vassar! It is a real achievement. One of the rites of passage from Vassar is completion of the Senior Survey. We want very much to have your reflections and candid views concerning your experiences as a student here, those that are positive and those negative as well. And best of all, there's a real reward if you will provide your views! Read on... Because you are in an altogether unique position to provide perspectives on Vassar, ones that no one else can offer, the Senior Survey project provides one-of-a-kind, vital, information for Vassar. Do take this unique opportunity to provide your perspectives on your four years' experiences at Vassar to the College. Please follow the link below to get to the survey, and take the roughly 20-25 minutes it will require to complete it. Your candid responses are most helpful. And now, THE PRIZE! President Cappy Hill has provided up to $2,500 to the class both as an incentive to participate in this project, and to enrich Senior Week. The higher the response rate to the survey, the greater the contribution that will be made to Senior Week, as follows: Response rate over 50% - $1,000 Over 60% - $1,500 Over 65% - $2,000 Over 70% - $2,500 So go for it, Class of 2010!! Break 70%!! The more the better, for all involved. Everyone wins with this one! This survey is being conducted on the web. This is designed both to make participation easy, and to eliminate all the paper required for cover letters, the survey itself, envelopes, and follow up letters. The link below will take you directly to the survey. [url] NOTE: This is a unique link to the survey. Please do not share it, or use someone else's link. Doing so will result in under-counting the total class participation rate, and so make it harder to reach the various prize levels above, as well as potentially having your responses and opinions over-written by those of someone else. With the help of various Senior Class officers, we will be providing periodic updates over the next three weeks on the response rate. I will also send periodic reminder e-mails that will be to (all and only) those who have not yet completed the survey. Here is a little further information about this survey (can be skipped): Student perspectives gathered through the Senior Survey have been instrumental in understanding numerous aspects about Vassar, both positive and negative, from academics to student life issues, and beyond, all as seen from the perspective of those closest to them -- Vassar students. Over the years, Vassar has used responses to this survey in making a number of decisions, new initiatives, and the like to address issues identified here. Survey input also helps to identify successful aspects to be preserved. Essentially, this survey is an important source of Vassar's self-knowledge. Your candid input this year enables the college to monitor how well improvements are working, indicates emerging matters in need of attention, and generally provides an invaluable look at student life and learning at Vassar from the perspective of those having been here through the senior year. Your responses will be entirely confidential, and used solely for the purposes of research. Your name will be removed from the data prior to any analysis. If you have questions about this survey, or any problems logging into the site, please do not hesitate to contact me, ddavisva@vassar.edu, or simply reply to this e-mail. Thank you - and enjoy your remaining time on campus! David Davis-Van Atta, Director Office of Institutional Research Vassar College 437-5491 ddavisva@vassar.edu
