Please send patti ( the following information:

1. When you typically swim now, how long do you usually swim?
2. How far do you usually go?
3. Can you swim freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly?
4. If you were to swim 5 sets of 100 yards, what interval would you do them on?
5. are you interested in swimmming at 6:15 am, noon or 7:00 pm - 8:30. you can attend any session you want, but you might find it is easier to attend one time regularly. we have workouts monday through friday at those times.

Because we are a college based program. We have limits as to how many non-MIT associated people we can have in our program. We currently do not have a waiting list for non-MIT people

The evening workout on Monday August 18th is back on. The pool will closed from 1:15 pm for a couple of hours to switch from long course to short course, but we will be in the pool for short course evening workout.

We are also in the process of setting up the budget for the fall 2014 term, so if you already have not done so, please send email to if you intend to swim with us. Remember if you say you will swim, you will have to pay the fees for the term. We set the fees based on number of people who say they will swim with us.

Summer 2014 scedule is ready for your viewing pleasure.

Summer session starts on June 2nd and runs til September 1st (Labor day, no workout, pool is closed). The fall session will start on Tuesday September 2nd.

Fees for the summer session are:

  • if you pay by June 15th - 115.00 for non-students and $65 for students
  • If you pay between 16th and 31st - $130.00 for non-students and 80.00 for students
  • for current members, if you have not made arrangements to pay by the end of June, you will not be allowed to swim with us.

June workout details (pdf)

  1. Due to Commencement on Friday June 6th No am workout. Facilities open up at 11 am.
  2. The weekend workouts will be on Sunday June 9 and 22nd (later than normal), then move to Saturdays starting June 28
  3. There are no Friday night workouts during the summer starting Friday June 13th
  4. Weekend of June 13th - 15th. Major swim meet - no Saturday workout - check DAPER website for pool availablility

  1. No workout on Friday July 4th (pool is closed only on this day)
  2. Due to Swim meet on July 11th (pm) through July 13th, there is no workout on Saturday July 12th.

  1. Move to short course for August 15th noon workout.
  2. Sunday workouts are back starting on Sunday August 17th since the facility hours are off summer hours.
  3. No workouts on Monday Sept 2nd - MIT holiday
  4. Fall workout schedule starts on Tuesday September 3rd.

We are now allowed to accept non-MIT associated people. Please contact patti for further information .

if you are not associated with MIT and you want to swim with us you need to:

-Buy a Friends of MIT athletic card (cost is $845 for an entire year or $555 for 6 months). for the most up to date cost, please check out the DAPER website

-If you want to spread out the payments for your athletic card over eleven payments, you need to contact the customer service desk.

-The MIT Masters Program is the only Masters program that comes with access to an excellent gym, a lot of other fitness classes, sailing, and other things. And most importantly for a swimmer, we have a great swimming pool.
