Please send patti (patti@mit.edu) the following information:

1. When you typically swim now, how long do you usually swim?
2. How far do you usually go?
3. Can you swim freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly?
4. If you were to swim 5 sets of 100 yards, what interval would you do them on?
5. are you interested in swimmming at 6:15 am, noon or 7:00 pm - 8:30. you can attend any session you want, but you might find it is easier to attend one time regularly. we have workouts monday through friday at those times.

The fall fees have been set . For students (both MIT and non-MIT students), the fee is $75.00 and for non-students, the fee is $110.00. For information on making your payments (which are due by Monday September 15th), please go to the payment page.

The Fall session runs from September 2nd to December 12th. The Z center pool will be closed for shutdown from December 15th to December 19th. If you want a summary of the workouts, download the pdf here.

We will be swimming at the following times:

  • Monday through Friday from 6:15 am to 7:30 am
  • Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from noon to 1:15 pm
  • Monday through Friday from 7:00 pm (we need to get the lane lines into the pool) to 8:30 pm
  • Sundays from 10:30 am to 11:45 am

The exceptions are noted by month:

1. No workouts on Monday September 1st due to Labor day
2. No workout on Friday Sept.12th in the pm due to water polo match
3. No workout on Sunday September 14th due to Water Polo tournament
4. No workout on Thursday Sept.18th or Friday Sept. 19th in the pm due to water polo game.
5. No workout on Mon. Sept. 22nd due to varisty swim/polo workouts/games
6. No workout on Thursday Sept. 25th in the pm due to water polo game.

2. No workouts on Monday Oct. 13th due to MIT holiday
3. No workout on Friday October 17th in the evening due to Water Polo match

1. Swim Meet on Thursday Dec 11th through Sunday Dec. 14th. So we will have only am workouts on Thursday and Friday
2. Z center pool shutdown from Monday Dec. 15th to Friday Dec. 19th. Masters is on vacation until Jan. 5th.


Posted July 21st, 2008:

The Sunday workouts will now be from 4:30 to 5:45 pm instead of 4:45 to 6 pm. This affects July 26th, August 3rd, 10th and 17.

We are now allowed to accept non-MIT associated people but there is a waiting list. please contact patti for information about the waiting list.

if you are not associated with MIT and you want to swim with us you need to:

-Buy a Friends of MIT athletic card (cost is $845 for an entire year or $555 for 6 months). for the most up to date cost, please check out the DAPER website

-If you want to spread out the payments for your athletic card over eleven payments, you need to contact the customer service desk.

-The MIT Masters Program is the only Masters program that comes with access to an excellent gym, a lot of other fitness classes, sailing, and other things. If you want a complete list of what your DAPER athletic card gets you, go here. And most importantly for a swimmer, we have a great swimming pool.
