Hi Lindy Hop Society Officers,

Hope this finds you all doing well!

CAC is heading up the coordination of The Beaver Ball, a celebration of 100 years of the mascot!  This is a formal dance and dessert reception in Morss Hall on Friday March 14, 2014.  The event features the Compaq Big Band from 7pm – 9pm, followed by a DJ from 9pm – 10:30pm. This is a ticketed event with prices purposely kept affordable for students and MIT community members. We are planning on 500 people attending the event.

I write to you with a proposal/inquiry for your involvement with the event. TIM has a brand new tuxedo and top hat that he will be debuting at this event.  I would love for him to perform a brief dance number with a partner while the band plays.  Does your group have two students willing to do this (one to don the suit, the other to partner)? It would likely need to be on the tamer side in terms of movement as the suit has its limitations and we could definitely test it out ahead of time.

Also, I want to get the crowd dancing and moving around to this amazing band.  Do you have 4 – 6 members interested in attending the event and showing off their dance skills between 7pm – 9pm?  I would be happy to comp their tickets in exchange for their energy and dancing, especially at the start of the event.

If you’d like to stop by the office (W20-500) or call me (617-253-3913) I would be happy to discuss this idea further!

Best,

Lauren
