TSM Release Team Meeting 3/1/07 Attended: Deb B., Atticus G., Dave K., Patrick W., Karl W., Esther Y. -- Dividing client releases In the event that the Windows installer is complete before the Mac installer, we may release it before the Mac installer, in the interest of supplying a supported backup solution for vista. -- TSM Windows client and testing Testing looks good so far. A work around for the "hidden" dialog box during installation is in the works. A new dialog box will be at the begining of the installation, asking the user if they have completed their registration for TSM, allowing them to cancel if they have not. The section of the "nodename/server" dialog box which asked if the user would like scheduled backups will be removed, and a closing dialog will be added indicating that additional steps are needed to install the scheduler, and give the user the option to open the web page which contains the scheduler installation instructions. - Known issues The windows client currently has a bug which causes include/exclude statements to become reordered. We will continue to move forward with this version. If a patched version is available before we release, we will swap it in. Otherwise, we will release with a clear communication of the bug and its workaround. - Status of TSM Mac installer Mac installer is underway and will be available for testing some time next week. - Review Product front door updates Front door looks good. More changes to come once the installers are closer to completion and further testing has been done. The installer release notes/readme from IBM will be linked from the release note book to assist in further documentation updates. - Discuss other communications A release update is in order to update the community. The possibility of the clients being released at different times could be mentioned here. - Discuss training A 2 sided, one page handout will be created in anticipation of a TSM quick start.
