Action Items:
- There are still no Vista compatible versions of Cisco, TSM new , SAP
- We will stay with Kerberos for Windows 2.6.5 (with disabled UAC), stand alone installer should be tested
- New version of VPN beta is now working with Vista activation
- Stock answer for McAfee On-Access scan service has to be created explaining how to disable or enable the service
- Documentation: create a check list for Vista upgrade; Esther will continue to work on the Product Front Page (including Vista Activation, System Requirements); Esther will send Activation Page doc for a review; team members should review it and add their corrections and additions;
- Distribution: DVD media will be purchased from Microsoft and sent to DLCs; it will be accessible for faculty and staff for both 32 and 64 bit version
- Customized script will be created for configuration and activation and posted on the distribution site. The question remains if we want to include MIT SUS server link to this script.
- There will be different mechanism for students to download Vista (between now and summer we will find a solution for student to address activation issue)
- Vista Limited Support announcement is being work on will address distribution issue for student
- For now we will continue to recommend buying new machines with XP and not recommend to upgrade to Vista
