The MIT Synchronized Swimming Team, one of MIT’s many club sports, offers its members a chance to stay in shape while getting some excellent competitive experience in the Northeast region and throughout the country. The team practices anywhere from three to eight hours per week, and team members often work out on their own to improve their skills and get in even better shape.
The team started in January 2003 when Lesley Frame ’04 and Tenley McHarg ’04 offered an Independent Activities Synchronized Swimming Class. By September 2003, the team was starting to practice regularly, and in February 2004, they made their competitive debut at the Wheaton Invitational, securing third place overall.
