TDQM-92-01: May 1992 Introduction to the TDQM Research Program by Stuart Madnick & Richard Wang |
| This paper presents an introduction to the TDQM research program. It includes research questions and planned long term goals and short term deliverables of the program. |
|
TDQM-92-02: June 1992 Toward Total Data Quality Management (TDQM) by Richard Wang & Henry Kon |
| This paper presents a high level, managerially oriented introduction to data quality and data quality research. It covers data quality impacts and problem solutions. Frameworks are presented for the data product life cycle and for the organizational, economic, and technical perspectives of the measurement, analysis, and improvement of data quality. Organizational change for data quality is suggested, including responsibility, education, skills development, and the institutionalization of continuous improvement. |

TDQM-92-03: December 1992 Data Quality Requirements Analysis and Modeling by Richard Wang, Henry Kon & Stuart Madnick |
| This paper presents a requirements analysis methodology and ER-based conceptual data model are presented. The focus is on determining, at design time, what kinds of quality tags should be appended to the application schema and how these would be modeled as part of an ER schema. |
| Published in the Ninth International Conference of Data Engineering, Vienna, Austria, April 1993. (pp. 670-677) |

TDQM-92-04: November 1992 Toward Quality Data: An Attribute-Based Approach by Richard Wang, M.P. Reddy & Henry Kon |
| This paper presents a description of how to specify, store, retrieve, and process data quality tags along with application data. A complete relational-based conceptual and logical data modeling formalism are presented, including a storage model, a query processing model, and integrity constraints. |
| Published in the Journal of Decision Support Systems 13(1995) 349-372 |

TDQM-92-05: December 1992 A Knowledge-based Approach to Supporting Data Quality Judgment by Yeona Jang, Henry Kon & Richard Wang |
| Published in the Proceedings of the Second Annual Workshop on Information Technology and Systems, Dallas, Texas, December 1992. |
| ** This paper has been superceded by TDQM-93-02 |

TDQM-92-06: August 1992 Quality Data Objects by Richard Wang & M.P. Reddy |
| Imagine that when you log into your database, all the database objects that are inaccurate, out-of-date, or inconsistent, relative to your personal specification, would "raise their hands" to alert you of their condition. The research focus here is the development of an object-oriented (OO)-data modeling mechanism which allows each data element to calculate its own usability at run-time. This mechanism is embedded within a more general object-based data modeling formalism. A related OO query model is also presented. |

TDQM-92-07: December 1992 Total Data Quality Management ... Zero Defects Data Capture by Ann Marie McGee |
| This paper presents a statement from Fujitsu Personal Systems, Inc. on the importance of data quality and the role of data capture in data quality improvement. |
