There must be a repeatable way to derive an image from vendor media.

The installation requires a ``miniroot'', a root image to be written to the client workstation's hard drive. The client will then boot off of this image to do the rest of the installation. This image may require changes between different versions of a vendor OS. There should be a repeatable way for a developer to take the new vendor media and derive an appropriate miniroot from it.
