We make the MIT yearbook and we want your picture. We guess you want your picture in the yearbook too. How does this work? Easy - follow the directions below!
On the scheduled day and time you come to our office in Student Center
(W20-451) and pose for the camera. We promise it won't hurt a bit. And 20-30 years
from now you will be like "Hey, kids, look, this is your mom/dad
graduating from MIT."

We encourage you to pre-order the 2010 yearbook. Pre-Orders are $50, and the price will go up in the spring!
You can place your order when you come in using cash, check, or TechCASH, and have the book shipped to you if you want.
An even better way would be to order online right now using your Credit Card!
You'll be able to pick up your books starting May 2010 at our booth outside LaVerdes (we'll be there for two weeks).

What are the photo dates?!
Senior portraits for Class of 2010 will be taken by McGrath
Studios. Just come to our office in Student Center, W20-451, between 11am and
6pm on the following dates:
October 14-16
October 19-23
November 2-6
How do I sign-up for the Senior Picture ?
Go to the top of the page, silly!
What should I wear?
The portrait shows what you're wearing down to about the bottom of your ribcage. Most people dress as if they were going to a job interview or a nice restaurant. There is a full-length mirror in our office, and restrooms nearby.
Will the portrait be in black-and-white or color?
The portrait will be shot in color, but it will appear in black-and-white in the yearbook. If you choose to order reprints, they will, of course, be color. The backdrop is primarily pastel blue, with brushstrokes of other colors, and is specifically designed so that even a blue shirt will not fade into the background (unless you've painted the shirt with various colors using a brush).
Who is taking the pictures?
McGrath Studios is the company that takes the photos and develops the film. This is done to ensure quality and consistency. The photographer's name is Greg, he is cool, and he's really good at what he's doing.

What should I bring?
You can pre-order Technique 2010 for $50 (it will cost more in the spring!). Please bring a check or cash. If you do not wish to buy the book in advance, just bring yourself and an ID card.
I'm MEng-ing or I took a year off or I graduated early last year.
It's up to you which yearbook you appear in. Regardless of what the Registrar thinks, most people get their photo taken with the class that they consider themselves a member of. Usually this is the class that they entered MIT with. Ultimately you should ask yourself: "Who do I want to be in the yearbook with me?" Note: if you and the Registrar disagree on what class you're with, please let us know if you want to be added to the next email list preemptively.
Can I submit a photo taken by a different studio?
No. Technique will not accept portraits from other studios. This is done to ensure consistency and to maintain quality.
Where are these crazy pictures from?
These are photos taken sometime in the mid-late 90's by Kevin Simmons. The photo of Richard Feynman is from the actual 1939 Technique. You are more than welcome to experiment with your looks and come up with something ingenious. Well, unless you want to become a politician or something like that and people will look at the yearbook and say "Mr./Mrs. So and So was a total nut!".
