Nomination Criteria
Nominations for 2008 are closed
All nominees need to satisfy some key elements that originate from the basic conception of the GITA awards.
Any person of Indus origin, resident anywhere in the world, under the age of 40 who has made outstanding technological or entrepreneurial contributions may be nominated.
Indus origin
Nominees must satisfy at least one of the following requirements:
- He/she is a citizen of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, or Bangladesh.
- He/she held a passport of any of these South Asian countries at any time.
- Either of his/her parents, or grandparents, or great grandparents, were born in and permanently resided in any one of these South Asian countries.
Age limit
The awards emphasize the need to honor young, upcoming people; an upper age limit of 40 is one criterion for nomination.
