Ashley Robinson has enjoyed performing in school and local community productions from an early age. At the age of six, she appeared in a commercial for the Girl Scouts of America through her troupe. A year later she performed a monologue in the Off-Broadway production, “Beginnings”. In high school, Ashley was a member of the Drama Department at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, KS. She acted in starring and supporting roles throughout her four years there. In addition to theatre, Ashley also participated in the National Forensics League in high school. She competed at state-wide competitions in the categories of serious solo and poetry. Aside from theatre, Ashley also trained in ballroom dance, tap, jazz, and ballet. She competed and placed in international competitions with her studio, “Ballroom Unlimited”. As a member of the youth group, she gave performances across Kansas City when not competing. Currently, Ashley is a freshman at MIT with plans to major in Biology with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. She is a staff writer for the Arts section of the Tech, a member of the Ballroom Dance Team, and the Black Students Union. |
