What is Tecplot? Where does it come from?

Tecplot is a data visualization package developed explicitly for engineers and scientists. It is developed and marketed by Tecplot, Inc. .

Tecplot on Athena

Tecplot 360 version 2008 is the current default version on Athena for all platforms (i.e., this is the version obtained from Dash or by typing:

add tecplot; tec360 &

General usage information can be found in files README.athena and README.config. The What Runs Where Tecplot entry may have the most current pointers to documentation.

Tecplot Help

• Tecplot includes extensive online help. Simply choose the Help -> Contents menu item.
• There are also an online Reference Manual, User's Manual.
• The Athena Consultants can help you get started using Tecplot, but do not officially support it. They do provide some Tecplot stock answers (under "Other").
