Enrique Garcia
ejgarcia@mit.edu

Enrique J. Garcia, originally from Spain, is currently a master's student in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT and a Ph.D. student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universidad de Zaragoza. His research interests include the characterization, fabrication, and structural application of nanocomposites based on carbon nanotubes. He has collaborated with the Smart Cities Group in the design of MIT Media Lab's concept car.

Before becoming an MIT student, Enrique worked for five years in the Spanish automotive and railway industries as a project manager and as a mechanical designer. He holds a European Master (M.Eng.) in Design and Manufacturing with Polymer and Composite Materials from U. de Zaragoza, U. de Pau, Ecole de Mines de Douai and U. of North London and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de Zaragoza.

When not doing research, Enrique enjoys any sport related to the mountains (alpinism, skiing, canyoning, free-climbing.), scuba-diving, going out with his friends, and organizing the European Career Fair at MIT.

Anastasios John Hart
    ajhart@mit.edu

Anastasios John Hart is a post-doctoral associate at MIT, and will become Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan in Fall 2007.

John holds Ph.D. (2006) and S.M. (2002) degrees from MIT, and a B.S.E (2000) degree from the University of Michigan, all in Mechanical Engineering. He has industrial experience in engineering and project management at General Motors, and through various consulting appointments. John received the 2006 MIT Senturia Prize for best doctoral thesis in micro/nano technology, and graduate fellowships from the Fannie and John Hertz Foundation, National Science Foundation, and MIT Martin Foundation. John's research currently focuses on manufacturing and applications of carbon nanotubes, machine design, microsystems, and scientific visualizations. (www.ajhart.com www.nanobliss.com )

    Woo Sik Kim

woosik@mit.edu

Woo Sik Kim was born in Seoul, Korea. He studied at the Yonsei University where he received his B.Sc. in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and PhD in Department of Ceramic Engineering in 1997 and 2004, respectively.

Prior to joining TELAMS, he worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at M.I.T. in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering researching micro-solid oxide fuel cells. Dr. Kim also was a Research Scientist in the Nano-Material Research Center at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST).

His research is aimed at the understanding structure-property-performance relationships in electrically-active thin film materials and devices. Current research emphasizes power-conversion devices (micro-solid oxide fuel cells and energy harvesting system) using micro-fabrication techniques.
