Terrascope
Radio -- SP360 You may choose to enroll in Terrascope's spring semester subject, Terrascope Radio (SP.360).. This subject is designated as a HASS CI-H and awards 12 credits. Terrascope Radio explores radio as a medium of expression and communication, particularly the communication of complex scientific or technical information to general audiences. The subject examines the ingredients of effective radio programming, drawing extensively on examples from both commercial and public radio. You will work in a team to produce, assemble, narrate, record and broadcast/webcast radio programs on topics related to the complex environmental issue that is the focus of your study in Terrascope subjects. Terrascope Radio also includes multiple individual writing assignments that explore the constraints and opportunities inherent in radio as a medium. This subject is limited to Terrascope students. Terrascope radio is not required, but strongly recommended. CI and HASS Requirement For a description of MIT's Communication Intensive (CI requirement), go to the MIT Undergraduate Communications Requirement page.
