Pre-Orientation Programs

Terrascope students are encouraged, but not required, to participate in
pre-orientation educational experiences offered during the summer before their freshman year.

Departments and non-departmental units often organize excursions before MIT's general orientation as a way for entering freshmen to get to know each other as well as faculty and departments before they settle into campus life. Terrascope does not, as yet, have a formal program of this kind, but students interested in such an experience may wish to enroll in one of the programs that are especially pertinent to Earth system science and engineering.
