Jamaica Plain

Jamaica Plain is a neighborhood within the City of Boston. It is located to the south of the city, situated between the City of Brookline, and the neighborhood of Roxbury. It is located about 7 miles SSW of MIT. (See the bottom right photo.)

The portion of Jamaica Plain I have chosen to focus on is the Centre Street Area, highlighted in the photograph on the right. Centre Street is the heart of Jamaica Plain - a bustling commerical and residential district, with a unique history. My site is bordered by South Street and Jamaica Street to the south, Lakeville Place to the north, and follows the streeline of Centre Street between the two borders. The width of my site only includes the buildings immediately on either side of Centre Street.

A more detailed map of this area of Jamaica Plain, with the borders of my site, can be found at the bottom left.
